General

Anfoega: As part of efforts to expand school infrastructure, an ultra-modern Administration and Library block has been commissioned for staff and students of Anfoega Senior High School in the Volta Region. The project, according to officials, started in 2014 but faced some delays until its completion six months ago.

According to Ghana News Agency, the handing over of the edifice was marked by District Chief Executive for North Dayi, Mr. Ernest Adevor, who expressed optimism about the potential impact of the project. As an alumnus and former tutor of the school, he highlighted the government's plan to complete similar projects in other institutions and thanked stakeholders for their significant contributions.

The Anfoega Senior High School Old Students' Association (ANFOSA) commended Mr. Adevor's dedication and involvement in other developmental initiatives of the institution. Additionally, Ms. Joycelyn Tetteh, Member of Parliament for North Dayi, was acknowledged for her advocacy and commitments that led to the project's successful completion. School authorities noted, "A staunch supporter of education, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development, Hon. Tetteh has consistently championed the growth of Anfoega SHS."

They further indicated that work on a new dining hall is progressing and expected to be completed before the school's 60th Anniversary celebration in November. These developments are anticipated to ease the infrastructure burden on the school as the student population increases.

Anfoega Senior High School, established in 1965, aims to provide quality education for students from diverse backgrounds, especially those within its catchment area. The upcoming 60th Anniversary celebrations are themed: 'Celebrating 60 Years: The Role of Stakeholders in Providing Quality Education for the 21st Century.' The Anniversary Committee has estimated GHS4,000,000 for earmarked projects, including a facelift of the school's entrance, development of a standard sports complex, and construction of a modern Home Economics and ICT Block.
