Amagyei Foundation Empowers Akyem Maase Youth with Training in Beauty and Household Product Manufacturing.

Akyem Maase: Amagyei Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility Wing of the legal firm AMAGYEI, is spearheading an initiative to train 80 young women in Akyem Maase, located in the Abuakwa South Municipality. The program aims to equip them with skills in producing beauty and household products, fostering self-reliance and employment generation.According to Ghana News Agency, the five-day training began on Tuesday, November 19, and focuses on teaching the participants to produce a range of items, including hypochlorite bleach, multipurpose liquid soap, liquid antiseptic, black soap shower gel, shea butter body cream, washing powder, laundry bar soap, Azumah blow soda soap balls, moisturizing hair shampoo, and wig hair oil. Ms. Ofosua Amagyei, the Founder of the organization, expressed her motivation to give back to her hometown, Akyem Maase, after observing the high unemployment rate among the youth due to a lack of necessary skills and resources.The Foundation plans to continue supporting the trainee s after their graduation by providing financial assistance and equipment to help them establish their businesses. Additionally, they will receive lessons in financial literacy and money management to better prepare them for the job market. The initiative also includes technical and vocational training in various fields for both Maase and surrounding communities, aiming to empower and transform these areas.The Amagyei Foundation, in collaboration with Peach Skills Hub Africa and as an affiliate of the Ghana TVET Service, is also offering literacy and adult education for individuals who have never attended school. Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng, Board Chairman of the Ghana News Agency and Apagyahene of Akyem Tafo-Ati, emphasized the importance of appreciating technical and vocational education. He highlighted its role in addressing unemployment and promoting national prosperity through the productive use of acquired skills.Mr. Charles Noble Quainoo, Greater Accra Regional Head of the Informal Apprenticeship Divis ion at Ghana TVET Service, praised the initiative and assured the provision of certification and adherence to quality standards for the trainees. Osabarima Adu Asare Bosompem III, Chief of Akyem Maase, expressed his support for the Foundation's efforts to enhance the skills of the community members. Trainee Ms. Ama Danquah, representing her peers, voiced their dedication to the training and aspirations to develop their own brands for the Ghanaian market.Akyem Maase, part of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area in the Eastern Region, is bordered by the communities of Akyem Asafo and Akyem Tafo. The training initiative is a significant step towards creating a hub of vocational talents and entrepreneurs in the region.
