Accra: Alhaji Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, the Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation (CCF), has urged Muslim inmates at the Awutu Camp Prison in the Central Region to make bold and positive life choices. He advised them to avoid crime and any unlawful acts that could lead to their return to prison after release.
According to Ghana News Agency, Alhaji Kwarteng addressed the inmates as part of a delegation from the Krispol City Jama'at of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in the Kasoa North Circuit. The Jama'at contributed assorted items, including bags of rice, beans, cooking oil, and drinks, to support the inmates during the Eid al-Fitr celebration. This festival is globally observed by Muslims to mark the end of Ramadan.
Alhaji Kwarteng emphasized the significance of self-discipline, resilience, and lawful living. He encouraged the inmates to learn from past mistakes, pursue personal development, and adopt a transformational mindset. He highlighted that their time in prison should be viewed as a lesson and a turning point, urging them to reintegrate into society as responsible and law-abiding citizens.
He assured the inmates that there are support systems in place to help former inmates rebuild their lives, stressing that adhering to the right path will lead to a brighter and more dignified future. As part of the Eid celebration, he urged them to remain hopeful and use the lessons of Ramadan to transform their lives.
Under Alhaji Kwarteng's leadership, the Foundation has consistently supported inmates during Eid celebrations by providing essential items like food, clothing, and toiletries.
