Agortoe Residents Urge Completion of Agenda 111 Hospital Project

Agortoe: Residents of Agortoe in the Anloga District of the Volta Region are calling on President John Dramani Mahama to complete the 'Agenda 111' hospital projects in the area. The Agenda 111 hospital project, initiated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government under former president Nana Akufo-Addo, aims to promote quality healthcare delivery across various districts in the country.

According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Francisca Anaglo, the Assembly Member of the area, highlighted that the project's completion would alleviate the challenges faced by surrounding communities in accessing quality healthcare. Work on the facility has been stalled since November last year, and residents are hopeful that construction will resume soon.

Madam Anaglo has urged the government to prioritize the continuation of the project to relieve the only small health center in Agortoe, which struggles with inadequate staff and equipment. She noted that the hospital project is divided into two phases, with one facility reportedly 60% complete and the other 70% complete.

Mr. Senyavor Wordui, a resident of Agortoe, emphasized the urgency of completing the facility to prevent deterioration and resource wastage. He believes the completion of the hospital would not only enhance healthcare services but also create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the area.

In a previous interview with GNA, Mr. Seth Yormewu, the Former District Chief Executive of Anloga, stressed the importance of continuing the project, which is at various stages of completion, to save taxpayers' money. Residents have echoed these sentiments, appealing to the government and other stakeholders to help finalize the hospital.

The Agenda 111 hospital project is part of a broader initiative by the NPP government to enhance healthcare infrastructure in Ghana, involving the construction of 101 district hospitals, six regional hospitals, two specialized hospitals, and other facilities.
