Mr Haruna Rashid, the Agona West Constituency Nasara Coordinator is said to be in critical condition at a hospital, after he sustained injuries in gunshot incident.The unidentified shooter opened fire on the Agona West Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP, Mr Chris Arthur's convoy which was returning from a campaign at Agona Otsenkorang, injuring three others.According to a police source, the two candidates were campaigning around 2100hrs Sunday, when the alleged shooter opened fire indiscriminately, living the four people injured.The source said the Nasara Coordinator who doubled as Campaign Manager for Mr Arthur, was part of his convoy, and on reaching Agona Nyakrom township, they realised that the road had been blocked.The source said the alleged suspect opened the door of the Nasara Coordinator's Car and poured alcohol on the driver who lost control of the steering wheel.It said after that, the Nasara Coordinator decided to get down to manage the situation when two guys one of them, wielding a gu n, shot the coordinator.The source said the coordinator was rushed to Agona Swedru Municipal government hospital, but he had since been referred to Korle Bu Teaching hospital in Accra for further treatment.Source: Ghana News Agency
