21-Year-Old Phone Repairer Receives GHC10,000 Cash Reward from MTN MoMo

Dormaa-Ahenkro: The MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) Limited has recognised and rewarded Mr. Emmanuel Ansu Gyeabour, a phone repairer at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region, with GHC10,000 cash and other souvenirs. The laureate was recognised as the 'One Million MoMo App Customer' of the company.

According to Ghana News Agency, MoMo is a service offered by MTN Ghana that allows users to manage finances, make payments, and conduct other transactions using their mobile phones. Speaking at a short ceremony held at Dormaa-Ahenkro on Tuesday, Mr. Haruna Shaibu, the Chief Executive Officer, said Mr. Gyeabour was recognised and appreciated 'because he is the one millionth customer who uploaded the MoMo App.'

He highlighted that MoMo had more than 17 million users, facilitating a range of services from wallet to savings, investments, and payments. He added that the 'two millionth MoMo App customer' would also be rewarded with GHC20,000 in due course. Mr. Shaibu noted that since its introduction, MoMo had significantly contributed to business growth and economic development, urging users to download and use the MoMo App for improved security on their mobile wallets.

Mr. Shaibu also commended businesses in the Dormaa Municipality for utilizing the MoMo services, which he noted were convenient and easy to use. 'In fact, the MoMo App is easier to use and works faster with enhanced security,' Mr. Abdul Razak Ali, the Chief Commercial Officer, MTN MoMo, stated, urging users to always keep their wallet and OTP codes secret.

On his part, Mr. Gyeabour expressed appreciation to MTN MoMo, saying the money would enable him to expand his mobile phone business.
