Woman Struck by Lightning During Rainstorm in Ho

According to Ghana News Agency:eld superstitions surrounding lightning strikes.

In accordance with tradition, elders from Ho Bankoe conducted customary rites at the scene before her body was removed. The incident has sparked widespread discussions among residents, with some attributing the tragedy to spiritual causes. Others are advocating for increased public education on lightning safety, especially during the rainy season.

This marks the second such incident in recent years. On May 30, 2022, a young coconut seller was also killed by lightning while seeking shelter under a mango tree near the ECG office. Her body, too, remained untouched for hours until traditional rituals were performed. Local leaders have urged residents to take precautions during storms, including avoiding open spaces and tall objects, and seeking immediate shelter indoors to reduce the risk of lightning-related tragedies.
