Volta Fair Secretariat Commends Regional Minister for Swift Action in Tackling Water Crisis

The Minister noted that the delegation's vision aligns with the goals of the President John Dramami Mahama-led administration, which include growth, investment, and sustainable development. Mr. Gunu expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming Volta Fair and its sister program, Visit Volta, both scheduled for this year. He emphasized that the initiative would not only showcase the region's attractions but also bring together businesses from Togo, Benin, Nigeria, and across Africa to explore opportunities in Volta.

Mr. Gunu highlighted a special mention to Siddharth Mohi Nupoo, CEO of Spring Agro, whose 1,500-acre rice farm in Adidome is currently the largest in the country. He pointed out that Mr. Nupoo's vision of Ghana's potential to export rice is a goal that requires collective efforts. The Minister further elaborated on the President's 24-hour economy policy, aimed at creating a conducive environment for industries like Spring Agro to thrive, thereby generating more jobs for the people in the Volta region and beyond.

Assuring the delegation of his commitment, Mr. Gunu outlined his focus on three key areas: ensuring peace and security to make Volta the most stable region in Ghana, building the capacity of District Assemblies to enhance local governance, and reducing dependency on central government. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of collaborating with AGI, ministries, agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private sector partners to create more jobs and fully realize the President's development vision for Volta.

The Minister concluded by stating that this year's Volta Fair promises to be bigger and better.
