Two Children and Woman Killed in Northern Ireland Shooting; Man Hospitalized

Maguiresbridge: Two children and a woman have died in a shooting in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, police have confirmed. A man remains in a serious condition in hospital following the incident.

According to Ghana News Agency, Superintendent Robert McGowan confirmed that all four individuals sustained gunshot wounds. The incident occurred in the Drummeer Road area of the village of Maguiresbridge. Police are currently present at the scene, which has been cordoned off as investigations continue.

Superintendent McGowan, speaking in Enniskillen, stated that two people were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third succumbed to injuries in the hospital on Wednesday afternoon. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) received an emergency call at 8:21 am local time on Wednesday, dispatching three emergency ambulances, a rapid response paramedic, two ambulance officers, and an ambulance doctor to the scene.

Superintendent McGowan expressed his condolences to the bereaved family, acknowledging the shock and grief they are experiencing. He confirmed that all four individuals involved were from the same household. A murder investigation is underway, with detectives working diligently to understand the circumstances surrounding the event. He noted the impact the tragedy has had on the quiet rural community.

British Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Hilary Benn, described the event as tragic and distressing, extending his sympathies to the victims' families and the local community in Fermanagh. He urged the public to refrain from speculation and allow the investigation to proceed.
