GDCA Supports Dalun-Lana Palace Reconstruction with Cement and Cash

Dalun: The Ghana Developing Communities Association (GDCA), a non-governmental organization, has donated 100 bags of cement and GHc5,000.00 in cash to aid the reconstruction of the Dalun-Lana Palace in Dalun, located within the Kumbungu District.

According to Ghana News Agency, the donation aligns with GDCA's mission to collaborate with communities to empower them towards achieving their development goals. Alhaji Abdulai Baba, Vice Chairman of GDCA's Governing Board, led the delegation that presented the items to the Dalun-Lana. He emphasized the importance of the palace as a communal home, urging support for its reconstruction.

The reconstruction project is spearheaded by Dalun-Lana Tapha Mahamadu (II), who was installed as Chief of Dalun by Ya-Na Abukari (II) in February of last year. Dalun holds significance as a key farming area within the Northern Region's Kumbungu District.

Alhaji Osman Abdel-Rahman, Executive Director of GDCA, highlighted the organization's commitment to collaborating with traditional authorities, acknowledging their vital role in community development. He stated, "Dalun is our home, and we must be part of its development, hence our support towards the reconstruction of the palace."

GDCA's Dalun Simli Centre, a subsidiary located in Dalun, frequently hosts events contributing to community engagement. Dalun-Lana Tapha Mahamadu (II), speaking through an Elder, expressed gratitude for GDCA's support, noting that it significantly contributes to the palace's development agenda.

He praised GDCA's longstanding contributions to Dalun and the surrounding areas, urging other organizations and stakeholders to follow suit in supporting the palace's reconstruction.
