Tema: The Tema Traditional Area has declared that its annual prohibition on drumming and noise making will commence on Friday, April 25, 2025, and continue until Saturday, May 17, 2025.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement issued by the Registrar of the Tema Traditional Council highlighted that during this period, activities such as burials, funerals, playing music, drumming, and any form of noise making will be strictly prohibited. The council's directive aims to ensure tranquility during the designated time frame.
The Tema Traditional Area encompasses several communities including Tema Newtown, Ashaiman, Zeenu, Kubekro, Adigon, Saasabi, Klangon, Adjei Kojo, Sakumono, and Adjeiman. Residents in these areas are urged to comply with the ban to avoid any potential disputes with the council's representatives.
The statement, as reported by Ghana News Agency, urges all residents and visitors to respect the customary practice, emphasizing the importance of the directive in maintaining peace within the communities.
