Mr. Nunekpeku, encouraging staff of the TDC during a staff durbar, charged them not to be afraid of responsibilities, take up challenges, and apply for positions when advertised.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Nunekpeku advised the youth to abandon timidity, emphasizing that they are trained to solve problems in the built industry. He highlighted the contrast between Africa and the Western world, where young individuals often hold significant managerial positions. He urged the youth to be proactive in their careers, suggesting that age should not be a barrier to holding leadership roles.
Mr. Nunekpeku further encouraged the youth to engage in continuous learning and research, leveraging technology to access resources. He cautioned against spending excessive time on social media platforms like TikTok and WhatsApp, advocating instead for activities that enhance their viability and make them assets to their organizations.
He underscored the importance of creativity and innovation in their professional journey, acknowledging that mistakes are part of the learning process. Mr. Nunekpeku emphasized that regardless of their role, whether as a cleaner, driver, or engineer, they should strive for excellence without engaging in unnecessary confrontations.
