SHEROES Highlights Global Connectivity with Ghana’s All-Female Music Festival

Accra: Ms Kim Poole, an American artist and founder of SHEROES Sisterhood, an international network dedicated to women empowerment, has expressed optimism about the prospects of Ghana’s first all-female music festival, ‘SheRhythms’. The festival is specifically designed to celebrate and amplify the voices, creativity, and achievements of women in music.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), under whose auspices SheRhythms was launched, stated that the festival is part of its golden jubilee celebrations. The theme of the festival, ‘Empowering Her Voice, Amplifying Her Art, Reshaping Her Industry’, highlights its objectives. Scheduled for December 4-6, 2025, at the Alliance Fran§aise in Accra, the festival will feature female musicians from Ghana and other countries, offering audiences a variety of genres and live performances.

The event will also include workshops, masterclasses, and mentorship programmes aimed at equipping women with skills in music business, production, and performance. Ms Poole, who attended the launch of the festival, described the event as significant. She emphasized that when women unite, they share spirit, strength, and vision, resulting in movements that transform industries, communities, and generations.

From the perspective of SHEROES, the launch of the festival is not just a celebration of artistry but a continuation of a legacy. Ms Poole noted that the festival represents an affirmation she had long sought. The statement highlighted Ms Poole’s 2016 Superlashes Tour across West Africa, which introduced an empowering anthem and planted the seeds for what would become the SHEROES Sisterhood-a global movement now active in more than 28 countries, empowering global African women through art, advocacy, and collective action.
