NCCE and IPDC Facilitate Parliamentary Candidates’ Dialogue in Koforidua.

Koforidua: The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with the New Juaben South Municipal Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC), has organized a parliamentary candidates' dialogue in Koforidua for the upcoming 2024 general elections. The dialogue brought together three aspirants competing for the parliamentary seat in the New Juaben South constituency.According to Ghana News Agency, the candidates included Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who is also the incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr. Martin Otu Offei from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and Mr. Evans Appiah, an Independent candidate. The NCCE organizes this dialogue in each election year to enable open interactions between constituents and their parliamentary candidates, allowing them to present their visions and missions. This initiative is aimed at helping voters make informed decisions on election day, stated Mr. Clement Donkor, New Juaben South Municipal Director of NCCE.The dialogue fo cused on pivotal issues such as employment, health, infrastructure, and education within the constituency. Participants, including students, artisans, youth groups, traders, and professionals, appreciated the NCCE and the IPDC for facilitating a platform that allowed direct engagement with the candidates. The NCCE aspires to be an effective independent governance institution, committed to delivering civic education to all Ghanaians and contributing towards the sustenance of Ghana's democracy.
