Nsawam-Adoagyiri: The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a man for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition at Nsawam-Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region. The suspect, Abdul Rauf Salami, a native of Adoagyiri Zongo, was apprehended on May 23, 2025, at about 0930 hours during intensified police operations targeting all entry and exit points of Adoagyiri, as stated in a press release.According to Ghana News Agency, the operations were part of a broader response to the recent disturbances in the township. The police retrieved exhibits from Salami, including two pump-action guns with 64 rounds of AA ammunition, a cutlass, a knife, and an ammunition vest. Salami is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned to face justice.The police assured the public of their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the Adoagyiri Township. They urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
