Korea to Empower Ghanaian Youth Through Strategic Initiatives

Mankranso: Mr. Park Kyongsig, the Korean Ambassador to Ghana, has committed to developing and implementing initiatives aimed at empowering the Ghanaian youth. He highlighted the importance of strengthening the existing political, economic, and cultural exchange partnerships between Ghana and Korea to promote sustained development for the benefit of the people.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Kyongsig made these remarks during a meeting with Mr. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South-West constituency of the Ashanti Region, and various stakeholders at Mankranso. He emphasized that Korean international development programmes such as Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH), and the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) could provide valuable benefits to the area.

The meeting, initiated by the MP, sought the support and partnership of the Korean government to develop the region by exploring opportunities and programmes available under Korean development initiatives. It also aimed to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation to boost trade, socio-economic development, access to quality healthcare, and modern agriculture.

Mr. Mensah Dapaah stated that the projects supported by the Korean government aligned with his vision to expand access to technical and vocational education for the youth, promote women-led entrepreneurship, engage farmers in cooperative farming, and improve healthcare delivery. He highlighted key programmes such as mobile clinics or CHIP compound upgrades, agro-processing and mechanization, and providing scholarships or training opportunities for deserving students and professionals.

He assured the Ambassador of his commitment to facilitating collaborative efforts that would bring long-term benefits to his constituents and the people of Korea. Nana (Dr.) Agyemang Duah, Chief of Kunsu, praised the MP's initiative and called for the effective and timely implementation of the plans discussed at the meeting for the collective benefit of all stakeholders.
