Pepease: The Give Hope Global, a non-profit organization, has provided the Pepease D/A Basic School with a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) laboratory and tools to promote STEM education among students. Subject teachers at the school have undergone intensive training to equip students with the necessary knowledge.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. John Watson, Director of Ghana Ministries of Give Hope Global, emphasized that studying STEM helps children discover real-world applications, sparks creativity, and develops essential 21st-century skills, including technology literacy and production. He remarked that there are no limits to what these children can pursue or become, and that careers across all disciplines can benefit from a creative mind.
The STEM tools donated to the school include a chemistry lab kit, optic science kit, electromagnetism lab kit, microscope slides, plant cell model, and weather science equipment. Additionally, the organization has presented approximately 1,500 Science and Mathematics textbooks to Pepease D/A Basic School, Nkwantanang Presbyterian Primary, Pepease Presbyterian Basic, and Florence Osei Ntim Basic Schools.
With support from Give Hope Global, classroom space at Pepease D/A Basic School has also been upgraded into a library equipped with various books. Mr. Watson stated that with guidance from teachers, the facility will help improve students' literacy skills.
Madam Doris Serwaa, Headmistress of Pepease D/A Basic School, expressed gratitude to the organization for their generosity and assured that the facilities and textbooks would be used for their intended purposes. In recognition of the organization's contributions, the school presented a citation of appreciation to the Give Hope Global team. The non-profit organization continues to invest in people to become agents of change in their communities.
