Accra: Miss Abena Amoakoaa Sintim Aboagye, a Ghanaian digital content creator known on TikTok as @Chefabbys, has been included in the prestigious inaugural TIME100 Creators 2025 list, which was released on July 9, 2025.
According to Ghana News Agency, TIME magazine highlighted her influence, noting her presence as one of the food creators featured on TikTok's Global Discover List this year. Sintim-Aboagye, with over 1.4 million TikTok followers, is recognized for her short videos showcasing her culinary expertise in traditional Ghanaian dishes, such as jollof rice, and other African recipes like babenda from Burkina Faso and amiwo from Benin.
Sintim-Aboagye shared with TIME Magazine her perspective on cooking traditional cuisine, stating, "When you cook a country's traditional food, you learn its values, its struggles, and its soul. Every ingredient has meaning. Every method carries memory. It teaches you respect for the people and the heritage behind the dish."
Also featured on the list is Khabane Lame, a Senegalese-Italian viral sensation who holds the title of TikTok's most-followed creator with 162 million followers. The magazine emphasized that digital creators have emerged to shape culture, especially with changes in consumer behavior accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
TIME noted the significance of the TIME100 Creators list in recognizing individuals who are transforming how people inform themselves. "They are changing what we watch, how we spend our time, what we buy, and how we vote," TIME stated.
