Accra: The Ghana Armed Forces has announced the disappearance of Ghana Air Force (GHAF) helicopter, Z9, which was en route to Obuasi from Accra on Wednesday. In a press release issued by Captain (GN) Veronica Adzo Arhin, the Acting Director General of Public Relations, at the Ghana Armed Forces said, the helicopter which took off at 0912 hours on August 6, 2025, lost contact with air traffic control shortly after.
According to Ghana News Agency, onboard the aircraft were three crew members and five passengers. The release said efforts were underway to locate the missing helicopter and ensure the safe recovery of the crew and passengers.
