French Ambassador Honored as Zosimli Naa of Tugu

Tamale: Mr Jules-Armand Aniambossou, the French Ambassador to Ghana, has been enskinned as the Zosimli Naa, or Chief of Friendship, of Tugu in the Tamale Metropolis. This honorary chieftaincy title highlights the enduring friendship between the French Government and the people of Tugu, and it was conferred upon the Ambassador during his courtesy visit to the Chief of Tugu at the palace.

According to Ghana News Agency, Tugulana Mahama Andani, the Chief of Tugu, emphasized that the title acknowledges the French Government's substantial contributions to the socio-economic development of the community. He specifically mentioned the establishment of a shea processing project, which was led by the French-owned financial institution, Advans Savings and Loans, as evidence of the Ambassador's dedication to empowering Tugu's residents.

Tugulana Andani noted that the project is currently enhancing shea production and improving the livelihoods of many vulnerable households and communities. He also urged the French Government to broaden its support to other key agricultural areas to benefit more residents.

Mr Aniambossou expressed his gratitude to the Chief and his elders for the honor and promised that the French Government would continue to support the development of marginalized communities across Ghana.

Mr Guillaume Valence, Chief Executive Officer of Advans Savings and Loans in Tamale, explained that the company, in collaboration with partners such as the Mastercard Foundation, Global Shea Alliance, and Sahel Agricultural Services, initiated the shea processing center in Tugu. He highlighted that the initiative has supported approximately 600 women across seven communities in the region.
