Accra: The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has completed investigations into Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, who serves as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The announcement was made by Dr. Dominic Akurutinga Ayine, the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, during a Government Accountability Series press conference at the Presidency.
According to Ghana News Agency, EOCO has also concluded its investigations into Mr. Abdul-Wahab Hannan, the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Buffer Stock Company, along with their accomplices. The Attorney-General assured that the results of both investigations would be disclosed soon.
Dr. Ayine further mentioned that the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) had completed the docket on the Akonta Mining Case and submitted it to his office. He stated that charges have been prepared and sent back to the Police CID, ensuring that the suspects will be formally charged before their court arraignment in the coming days.
