Emerging Public Leaders of Ghana Launches 2025 Public Service Fellowship Applications

Accra: The Emerging Public Leaders of Ghana (EPL Ghana) has announced the commencement of applications for its 2025 Public Service Fellowship (PSF), in collaboration with Mastercard Foundation and the Public Services Commission. The fellowship is a one-year program aimed at enhancing public service delivery in Ghana by developing youth leadership.

According to Ghana News Agency, the fellowship targets talented young Ghanaian graduates aged between 22 and 32 who have completed their mandatory national service. These individuals should demonstrate leadership potential and a keen interest in influencing systemic changes within the public service. This year, EPL Ghana has increased the number of available slots by 29 percent to admit 45 candidates into the fellowship program.

The program strongly encourages applications from young women, individuals with disabilities, and eligible Mastercard Foundation Scholars. Juliet A. Amoah, Country Director of EPL Ghana, emphasized the importance of this initiative in promoting diversity and dynamism among young leaders in the nation’s public service. She highlighted EPL Ghana’s commitment to advancing gender parity and inclusion.

The fellowship, which is now in its seventh year, aims to attract, develop, and retain exceptional leaders who will drive innovation and excellence in Ghana’s public service. Elizabeth-Zionita Akorfa Dzah, Programmes Manager at EPL Ghana, noted the organization’s ambition to enhance gender, diversity, and inclusion within this year’s cohort. She stressed the importance of diverse teams in achieving better results and empowering young Ghanaians to champion systemic changes.

Successful applicants will receive a one-year sponsored participation in a comprehensive learning program designed to nurture their leadership potential. The training prepares Fellows for job placements in government agencies, including Ministries, Departments, and State-Owned Enterprises. Applications for the 2025 Public Service Fellowship are open from March 10 to April 21, 2025.
