London: Dr James Orleans-Lindsay, the Chancellor of the Cape Coast Technical University and the Executive Chairman of JL Holdings, a Ghanaian real estate company, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Africa Rising Symposium. The symposium, themed 'Beyond Potential: Africa's Age of Performance', will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the United Kingdom.
According to Ghana News Agency, the event is being organised by the Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa at LSE, in partnership with EMY Africa. The Africa Rising Symposium aims to bring together African policymakers, entrepreneurs, scholars, and development actors to evaluate the continent's progress and challenge institutions and individuals to move beyond potential into measurable performance.
A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency noted that Dr Orleans-Lindsay, a Ghanaian business leader and education advocate, is expected to deliver a thought-provoking keynote address titled 'Building Beyond Rhetoric'. His address will reflect his extensive experience in the real estate industry, business leadership, and youth empowerment. His selection as the keynote speaker highlights the growing international recognition of African leaders who drive transformation through pragmatic leadership, visionary policy advocacy, and private-sector innovation.
In a pre-event statement, Dr Orleans-Lindsay emphasized that Africa must not only rise but also deliver, viewing the symposium as an opportunity for Africans to define the next chapter of the continent's development through action rather than promises.
The event, open to the public through registration, is also part of a broader agenda by EMY Africa to celebrate and elevate African excellence on a global stage.
