Accra: The Coalition of Muslim Organisations Ghana (COMOG) has extended its sincerest condolences to President John Dramani Mahama and the families of the deceased involved in the helicopter crash on August 6, 2025. 'The COMOG is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives in the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of the eight personalities,' it stated.
According to Ghana News Agency, the persons who lost their lives included Alhaji Dr Murtala Ibrahim Mohammed, Muniru Mohammed, and other government officials and military officers. A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency by Hajj Abdel-Manan Abdel-Rahman, President of COMOG, said, 'We pray that Allah grants the souls of the deceased eternal peace and comfort to their loved ones during this difficult time.'
The statement further expressed the hope that Allah might strengthen and console the bereaved families and the entire nation during this period of mourning. It emphasized that the loss of these dedicated public servants was a significant blow to the nation and acknowledged their contributions to Ghana's development.
The statement highlighted the commitment of Hon. Alhaji Dr Murtala Ibrahim Mohammed to the Muslim Ummah and his support for Ummah unity initiatives. It concluded with a prayer for the deceased, expressing the hope that their legacies would continue to inspire efforts towards a better Ghana for all. 'May Allah grant the deceased eternal peace, and may their legacies continue to inspire us to work towards a better Ghana for all. We belong to Allah, and to Him, we shall return.'
