Accra: Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, the newly appointed Head Coach for the Senior Women's Football team, has underscored the importance of readiness and preparation for the upcoming 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). During his unveiling ceremony at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) headquarters, the Swedish coach acknowledged the challenges ahead but emphasized that teamwork would be crucial to achieving their objectives.According to Ghana News Agency, Coach Bjorkegren stated, "there are things you can control and there are things you cannot control." He highlighted the unpredictability of football, noting that sometimes teams face difficult days, but the aim is to prevent such occurrences during the tournament. Bjorkegren stressed the importance of being prepared when the tournament begins.Expressing gratitude to the GFA, Bjorkegren said he was honored to be part of a great country. He emphasized the importance of visiting players in their respective clubs to observe and assist them in improv ing their skills.Mr. Gideon Fosu, an Executive Council Member at the GFA, conveyed confidence in the newly appointed coach. He remarked on the progress of women's football and the rigorous selection process that led to Coach Kim's appointment. Fosu expressed hope that Bjorkegren's name would become prominent in the nation's coaching circles.The unveiling ceremony was attended by Executive Council Members Gideon Fosu and Samuel Aboabire, along with the General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, Technical Director Professor Joseph Mintah, and Assistant Coach Anita Wiredu Mintah.
