Accra: Asante Kotoko will be a strong favourite when they face Division One side Golden Kick SC on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium. The Porcupine Warriors would be aiming for their tenth FA Cup title as they close the gap on rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, who have won the competition an unprecedented eleven times.According to Ghana News Agency, Kotoko coach Karim Zito's squad would be eager to win silverware this season, especially after missing out on the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League title. Coach Karim Zito, who won the FA Cup with Dreams FC two seasons ago, would like to join the elite group of coaches who have won the FA Cup with two teams.Despite their setback in the GPL, the Porcupine Warriors have had a successful FA Cup campaign, defeating Berekum Chelsea, True Democracy, and Eleven Wise to reach the finals. Golden Kick SC, on the other hand, has had an incredible FA Cup run despite failing to qualify for the GPL. They defeated Kotoku Royals, WAFA, Danbort, Accra Hearts of Oa k, Karela United, and Attram De Visser to make the finals. If Kotoko wins the final on Sunday, they would qualify for the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup as Ghana's solitary representative. The final match, which would kickstart at 17:00 GMT on Sunday, would be preceded by a curtain raiser between the legends of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko at the same venue.Notable veterans like Charles Taylor, Eric Bekoe, Francis Akwafo, Emmanuel Armah, Eric Donkor, Amos Frimpong, Bernard Don Bortey, Sammy Adjei, Dan Quaye, Amankwah Mireku and Adjah Tetteh, among others, would feature in the match.
