Climate Expert Warns Against Using Tainted Glasses in Residential Buildings

Accra: Mr Richard Adu-Poku, a climate change expert, has cautioned the public against the use of 'tainted glasses' in residential buildings. He stated that these glasses absorb heat significantly, potentially exacerbating climatic conditions and leading to serious health complications.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Adu-Poku, who also serves as the Executive Director of Livelihood and Environment Ghana, an environmentally focused Non-Governmental Organisation, highlighted that extreme heat could result in infertility among men. He emphasized that men living in such conditions might face challenges in impregnating their wives or partners. "The semen requires certain temperatures to function effectively, and if we are unable to manage the heat in our homes, it's likely that we can't impregnate our lives and partners," he explained.

Mr Adu-Poku urged the public to support the government's climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts to reduce the impacts. He pointed out that climate change-induced droughts have significant effects on food security and health, emphasizing the need for collective action.
