Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan as the Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority. A statement signed by Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, confirmed the appointment.
According to Ghana News Agency, Brig. Gen. Annan is expected to reset the Customs Division and support the Ghana Revenue Authority in meeting its targets as the government works towards improving the economy. The statement highlighted Brig. Gen. Annan's previous role as the Presidential Security Coordinator and described him as a Commissioned Officer of the Ghana Army.
The President also expressed his appreciation to the outgoing Commissioner, Brig. Gen. Zibilm Avorrogo, for his service to the Customs Division and Ghana.
