Abidjan: The Black Queens of Ghana have stepped up preparations for the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) as they are scheduled to face C´te d'Ivoire in two friendlies. The first friendly, scheduled for Friday, May 30, at the Stade F©lix Houphou«t Boigny in Abidjan (19:00 GMT), will see the two West Africans lock horns in a match that promises to be a thriller.
According to Ghana News Agency, Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bj¶rkegren, after their final training session before the match, said he was impressed with the team's display in training ahead of two preparatory encounters. He also praised his side's intensity and commitment as they seek a good outing against the 'Les Elephants' of C´te d'Ivoire later today.
'It was a good exercise, and I liked the intensity and commitment everyone exhibited today. We arrived yesterday, and this is only our first training session, but I'm impressed,' he said. The Black Queens will face the 'Les Elephants' in the second friendly on June 3, 2025, as they gear up for the 2025 WAFCON in Morocco to be played from July 5 to 26, 2025.
