Assaulted Farmer in Kintampo Seeks IGP’s Intervention for Justice

General

Kintampo: Mr. David Banchgla, a farmer in the Kintampo Municipality of the Bono East Region, has made a public appeal for the Inspector General of Police to ensure justice in a case involving alleged police misconduct. Mr. Banchgla claims a group, which included a police officer from the Kintampo Police Station, attacked him at his residence.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Banchgla recounted the incident, stating that the group forcibly entered his home, demanding information about a woman’s whereabouts. Upon his denial of any knowledge, they allegedly assaulted him and stole GHC4,000. Despite lodging a formal complaint at the local police station two weeks ago, Mr. Banchgla reported that no action has been taken.

He expressed concern that the same officer alleged to have been involved in the incident is now handling his complaint. Mr. Banchgla has therefore called for the intervention of the Inspector General of Police to ensure that justice is served.
