Kumasi: Elaborate customary rites for the burial (Doteyie) of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the late Asantehemaa, are underway throughout Asanteman. Today marks the final day of the four-day burial rites, which commenced on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.
According to Ghana News Agency, all activities, including trading, hawking, transport services, and catering, have been suspended to allow residents to participate fully in the burial rites. Nana Konadu Yiadom passed away on August 07, 2025, having served as Asantehemaa for eight years.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, received dignitaries and delegations at the Manhyia Palace on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 16 and 17, as they gathered to mourn and pay their respects.
