At Least 13 Killed in Attack Near Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital

Gaza city: At least 13 Palestinians have been killed in a suspected Israeli attack in Gaza City near al-Shifa Hospital, according to medical sources. Eyewitnesses also reported an Israeli drone strike near the hospital, which claimed the lives of women and children. An Israeli army spokeswoman said the reports were being investigated. Residents stated that members of a family fleeing south were also hit. These claims could not be independently verified.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Palestinian WAFA news agency earlier reported that at least 45 people had been killed on Wednesday, in separate attacks across the Gaza Strip, including 32 in Gaza City. The victims are reported to include a pregnant woman. Israel launched a ground offensive in Gaza City on Monday. According to the government, the aim is to dismantle Islamist organization Hamas and secure the release of the remaining Israeli hostages.

The Gaza war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas and other Islamist terrorists launched an attack on Israel, killing around 1,200 people and abducting more than 250 to the Gaza Strip. Since then, more than 65,000 Palestinians in the coastal territory have been killed, including numerous women and children, according to the Hamas-controlled health ministry.
