The Anglican Diocese of Tamale has ended its 11th synod with a call on members of the church to rekindle their relationship with God and re-dedicate their faith in the development of the church.The occasion was used to ordain two deacons expected to join the priesthood after they both complete their seminarian tuition in a few months.Messrs Robert Kobina Yion and Meshach Alidu Issifu, are to serve in the Sandema and Zagyuure Parishes at the discretion of the diocesan bishop.Right Reverend Dennis Dabukari Tong, Bishop of the Diocese in an ordination sermon, charged them to manage their congregations with truth, honesty and love and teach them more to understand essence and need to embrace salvationThe Bishop noted: 'We are called to serve whether we are deacons, Priests or Bishops, and therefore we must open our doors to the congregation whenever they need us.'He charged members of the congregation to open up to their priests and discuss issues that border them with honesty for them to get good and h onest counselling to enable them move on in life.The synod discussed issues of prime concerns to the church including enacting laws, developing resolutions and assigning roles to committees and boards for the next two years.The Bishop used the occasion to inaugurate boards and committees constituted at synod, including the Business and Finance Board, the Ordinance Advisory Board, Education Committee, Standing Committee, Estate Committee, Evangelism Committee, Internal Province of Ghana (IPG) Representatives and Disciplinary Committee.The others are the Church of Province of West Africa (CPWA) Representative, the Bishop Nomination Committee, and the Synod Implementation Committee.Source: Ghana News Agency
