Agona West: A 40-year-old man, Mr. Stephen Omarikesie, who needed an emergency surgery after swallowing an unknown substance, has received cash support of GHC10,000 from the Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, Mrs. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey. Mr. Omarikesie, who suffered throat complications after swallowing the substance, is currently on admission at the Swedru Government Hospital and is awaiting referral to undergo an emergency surgery at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Paul Appleh, Deputy Communications Officer of the Agona West Constituency of the NDC, made the presentation on behalf of the MP. He stated that Mrs. Dangbey received information from the constituency executives about Mr. Omarikesie's predicament and, as a caring representative, she swiftly responded to help save his life.
Mr. Appleh emphasized that the MP is committed to serving the people of Agona West who elected her to parliament. Mrs. Dangbey has pledged to offer support to demands that are within her means and will seek assistance for those beyond her control.
Ms Mary Efua Amissah, mother of Mr Omarikesie, who received the cash thanked the MP for the kind gesture and expressed the hope that her son would successfully go through the surgery.
