Some 126 exhibitors are taking part in the 33rd edition of the Tunis Furniture Fair, held at the Kram Convention Centre from February 29 to March 10, 2024.

This fair is the quintessential meeting point for industrial companies in the furniture sector, as the production of furniture (finished products) has recorded an annual growth rate of around 2% for the period 2018-2023, reaching a value of TND 721 million.

According to data released by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy on Friday, the wood and furniture sector provides approximately 25,000 jobs (both industrial and artisanal), with approximately 180 active enterprises (employing 10 or more people), including 17 fully exporting companies.

The sector’s exports have also increased, reaching TND 771 million by the end of 2023, compared to TND 558 million in 2018, representing an annual growth of around 8%, largely due to exports in the aerospace and automotive seating sectors.

Currently, the timber and furniture sectors are experiencing a surge in
demand both domestically and globally, according to the same source.

These sectors have a promising potential for value chain development, providing high value-added products, adapting to current needs and preserving the environment.
