Yendi: Mr Edward Attah Kojo Dawuni, a retired Public Servant, has been enskinned as the Paramount Chief of the Tatali Traditional Area in the Northern Region under the skin name Nakpare Bore Dawuni Attah Nkaraa II. The ceremony took place at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, officiated by Ya-Na Abukari II, the Overlord of the Dagbon Traditional Area. This event marked the succession of Nakpare Bore Nkaraa II to the position following the tenure of Nakpare Bore Gariba Yankofor II, who ruled from 2001 until his passing on March 21, 2024.
According to Ghana News Agency, Nakpare Bore Nkaraa II previously served as the Yendi Municipal Director of the Information Services Department and worked as a Stringer for the Ghana News Agency in the Yendi Municipality from 1987 until his recent enskinment. The ceremony was a significant occasion marked by the presence of important figures from the Tatali Traditional Area, alongside friends and well-wishers from various regions.
The Tatali Traditional Area, situated in the Tatali-Sangule District, is strategically positioned as a border town with the Republic of Togo, holding importance within the Dagbon kingdom. During the ceremony, Ya-Na Abukari II emphasized the importance of the new Paramount Chief's background in public communication and media, encouraging him to use his expertise to foster development and unity in the region.
