Western Regional Minister Urges Citizens to Renew Patriotism and Responsibility

Sekondi-Takoradi: Mr Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional Minister, has called on the citizenry to renew their senses of patriotism and responsibility to build the nation to prosperity. He emphasized the importance of charting a common path and taking concerted efforts to create a just and prosperous nation for all.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Nelson delivered his address during the 68th Independence Day Anniversary celebration, jointly organized by the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan and Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assemblies. The event, held at Effiakuma, was themed 'Reflect, Review, and Reset,' which Mr Nelson described as both timely and thought-provoking. The theme urged citizens to evaluate the nation's progress since its inception and make necessary adjustments for a stronger Ghana.

Mr Nelson highlighted the significant strides made over the past 68 years in various sectors, including governance, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic growth. However, he acknowledged existing challenges such as unemployment and inadequate infrastructure that need to be addressed. The government's resetting agenda aims to redirect efforts towards overcoming these challenges to build the desired Ghana.

Reaffirming his commitment to the Western Region, Mr Nelson expressed his dedication to serving with integrity and inclusivity. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with stakeholders to pursue the region's development agenda, stating that working together in peace and harmony would lead to greater achievements for the region and the country.
