Volta Regional Minister and Local Leaders Commit to Completing Press Centre in Ho

According to Ghana News Agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gunu, who spoke during the World Press Freedom Day event organized by the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Volta/Oti Chapters, stated that the project began during his tenure as a regional executive of the NDC. Now, as both a Regional Minister and journalist, he aims to complete the centre by the next Press Freedom Day in 2026, committing GHC10,000 to the cause.

Further pledges came from other officials present. Mr. Prosper Francis Dusey, DCE for Ho West, highlighted the essential role of journalists in development and pledged GHC1,000. He noted that the MP for Ho West, Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, is also contributing with a donation of cement.

Mr. Stephen Adom, MCE for Ho Municipality, pledged GHC5,000, emphasizing his commitment to public service and urging media accuracy. Mr. Bless Kodjo Katamani, DCE for Akatsi North, pledged GHC6,000 and offered agricultural support to interested journalists.

Captain George Kofi Nfodjo (Rtd.), who chaired the event, expressed optimism that the pledges would enable project completion by December 2025. The appeal for support was led by Mr. Emmanuel Agbaxode, Chairman of GJA Volta/Oti, emphasizing the Press Centre’s role in media collaboration and development.

The completed Press Centre is expected to be a hub for media operations, providing facilities for meetings, training, and journalistic activities in the region.
