Accra: Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, has announced that the Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, will pay a working visit to the Oti Region on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The purpose of the visit is to mourn with the families who lost their loved ones in the recent tragic boat accident on River Oti between Okuma and Debume, which claimed 15 lives in the Krachi West Municipality.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement signed by the Regional Minister and copied to the agency, detailed that the Vice President and the Minister will meet with the affected families and communities. The visit is intended as a gesture of solidarity and support from the government during this difficult period.
The statement also conveyed Mr. Gyapong's appreciation, through the Oti Regional Coordinating Council (ORCC), to all stakeholders, including security agencies and National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) officials, for their swift response and continuous support in the aftermath of the tragedy.
