Sagnarigu: A fully furnished two-unit kindergarten classroom block with an office, dining room, and sleeping lobby has been constructed for Nangbagu M/A Primary School in the Sagnarigu Municipality of Northern Region. This development marks a significant enhancement in the educational infrastructure available to young learners in the area.
According to Ghana News Agency, the construction of the facilities was undertaken by Markaz Al Bishara Child Development Programme (MABCDP) with funding support from Children Believe, an international NGO. Alongside the kindergarten block, a four-seater toilet facility (KVIP) and urinal have also been built to supplement the new block, serving as an early childhood development hub. To further support learning, teaching and learning materials (TLMs) and outdoor play equipment have been supplied, aiming to create a conducive learning environment for the children.
Mrs. Esenam Kavi De Souza, Country Director of Children Believe, highlighted the organization's dedication to advancing early childhood education in the country during a ceremony to hand over the facilities and materials to the school authorities. She noted that Children Believe has partnered with national NGOs to fund the construction of 32 fully furnished early childhood development blocks across the nation. Mrs. De Souza also encouraged parents to enroll their children in school at an early and appropriate age.
Mr. Alhassan Alidu Junior, Northern Regional Director of Education, expressed gratitude to MABCDP and Children Believe for their contributions. He assured that the Ghana Education Service, in collaboration with the School Management Committee, would ensure the proper management of these facilities to benefit future generations.
