Sunyani Paramount Chief Commits to Enhancing Police Resources

Accra: Odeefuor Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area, has pledged to bolster the operations of the Bono Regional Police Command by providing essential resources to aid in crime prevention and security enhancement.

According to Ghana News Agency, the chief has committed to equipping the command with necessary logistics and machinery, including motorbikes, to facilitate increased patrols by the police personnel. This pledge was made in a statement following a courtesy visit by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr. Yaw Tetega, the Bono Regional Police Commander, and other officers to Odeefuor Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II in Sunyani.

Accompanying DCOP Tetega were Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) George Andrews Kumah, the Deputy Bono Regional Police Commander, and ACP Delay Dzansi, the Sunyani Divisional Police Commander, along with other command officers. The visit aimed to introduce the police leadership in the region to the Paramount Chief. The statement, shared with the Ghana News Agency, underscored the command’s dedication to ensuring personnel maintain a high level of professionalism during their duties.

DCOP Tetega emphasized the importance of preserving the existing peace within the Municipality and the broader region. Discussions during the meeting focused largely on the security situation in Sunyani and related issues.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to collaborate on addressing security challenges, fostering a spirit of cooperation between the traditional leadership and the police command. The meeting marked a significant stride towards strengthening the relationship between the Bono Regional Police Command and the Sunyani Traditional Council, setting the stage for ongoing dialogue and cooperation.
