Soldier Arrested Over Assault at Pharmacy in Burma Camp

Accra: The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed the arrest of a soldier filmed assaulting two civilians at a pharmacy in Burma Camp. A statement issued by the Department of Public Relations and signed by Naval Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director-General, said the arrest was effected by Ghana Military Police personnel at dawn on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

According to Ghana News Agency, the suspect, captured in a viral video circulating on media and social platforms, allegedly assaulted a drugstore attendant and a female customer on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The statement indicated that the soldier is currently assisting with investigations, while the victims have received medical attention and are also supporting the inquiry.

The Ghana Armed Forces assured the public of its commitment to uphold discipline and stated it would not shield any personnel involved in acts of assault against civilians.
