Rythm Foundation and Anopa Project Enhance Infrastructure for Special Schools in Cape Coast

Cape Coast: Rythm Foundation, a social impact organization, in partnership with the Anopa Project, have handed over two constructed pathways and a Polytank to two special schools within Cape Coast. The beneficiary schools were Ghana National Inclusive School and Aboom Special School.

According to Ghana News Agency, Ghana National Inclusive School received a resurfaced pathway leading to the dormitories and hostels, which had previously been dangerous and inaccessible, especially for blind students. Aboom Special School benefited from a Polytank, addressing the persistent water crisis faced by the institution. The project is making a significant difference in ensuring safe and easy access for both blind and sighted students at the Ghana National Inclusive School.

Rythm Foundation invests in human development programs to empower lives and transform communities through its infrastructural enhancement program. The provision of these facilities is part of the Foundation's three-year project aimed at creating a more inclusive and compassionate environment for students.

Mr. Ernest Appiah, Executive Director of the Anopa Project, noted that the initiative aims to improve lives for special children, enabling them to build confidence and feel more comfortable around others. He emphasized the project's goal to encourage children to associate with each other to achieve their full potential. Mr. Appiah also reaffirmed the Foundation's commitment to ensuring that special schoolchildren have access to quality education.

Mrs. Phyllis Asante-Krobea, Cape Coast Metro Director of Education, expressed gratitude to the donors and urged staff to be more patient and tolerant in grooming children with special needs. She assured that best management practices would be adopted to ensure the longevity of the pathways and water tanks. She also called on philanthropists and NGOs to assist in providing quality education for children with special needs.

Madam Pobana Herusan, Senior Project Executive at Rhythm Foundation, expressed their commitment to bridging the gap in developing inclusivity among students. She highlighted that the project includes establishing an ICT laboratory, upgrading classrooms, remodeling schools, and equipping teachers with training to enhance their skills in educating students.

The students expressed their gratitude to the donors for their support and appealed for further assistance to help them realize their dreams.
