President Mahama to Open Ghana-China Business Summit on June 23

Accra: President John Dramani Mahama is set to open the premier Ghana-China Business Summit on Monday, June 23. The event, themed 'Synergising Opportunities: Strengthening the Ghana-China Business Relationship and Fostering a 24-Hour Economy', aims to enhance economic cooperation between the two nations.

According to Ghana News Agency, the summit, scheduled from June 23rd to June 28th, will bring together executive officers of Chinese companies and Ghanaian investors, entrepreneurs, and business executives. The objective is to explore business opportunities, foster partnerships, and leverage Ghana's strategic position to access the West African market. The summit is organized by the Government of Ghana through the office of the Chief of Staff, in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, Ghana's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Shandong and Beijing.

Other partners involved in the summit include Perfect World Company Limited, Sino Africa Group, Communication for Development and Advocacy Consult (CDA Consult), and Lifeline Haven Company Limited. The event will feature speakers such as the Chief of Staff, Mr Julious Debrah; the Chinese Ambassador, Tong-Defa; Mr Chen Xiaowei, Group Chairman of Sino-Africa Group; and various government officials and technical experts from key sectors of the economy.

Mr Dennis Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World Company Limited, stated that the summit is expected to contribute to Ghana's economic development by attracting investment, promoting trade, and fostering partnerships between Ghanaian and Chinese businesses. He emphasized that the summit will provide a platform for Ghanaian businesses to access the West African market through partnerships with Chinese companies.

Mr Anderson remarked that the Ghana-China Business Summit is anticipated to be a significant event in the business calendar, bringing together stakeholders from both countries to promote economic cooperation and investment. He highlighted that the summit is set to positively impact Ghana's economy and offers opportunities for both nations to explore and strengthen business relationships, foster partnerships, and leverage Ghana's strategic position to access the West African market.

He further mentioned that the summit would explore ways to promote economic development through partnerships and investments, showcasing innovative technologies and solutions that can drive economic growth, and fostering sustainable development through responsible business practices. The Ghana-China Business Summit is billed as a premier event offering a platform for businesses to explore investment opportunities and foster partnerships, making it an unmissable occasion.
