Nursing Mothers Commended for Safeguarding the Health, Future of Their Children

According to Ghana News Agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, Mr Atidzah made the commendation in a goodwill message to nursing mothers and caregivers during the African Vaccination and Child Health Promotion Week celebration, which falls in May every year. 'We noticed your dedication, love and resilience, you are heroines in our communities,' he said. He stated that GOSANET Foundation was proud to stand by them in this important journey of nurturing a new generation of leaders.

The Executive Director said the Foundation was committed to helping the Ghana Health Service and other partners to ensure that no child was left behind, especially in the hard-to-reach and underserved areas. 'As the Ho Municipal Implementing Partner for the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health (GCNH) on the GAVI CDS 3 Project, we will continue to support government in its efforts to ensure that no child is left behind when it comes to life-saving vaccines and essential health services,' he said.

Mr Atidzah stated that they were doing this through their community outreach programmes and health promotion education efforts. He urged them to continue working with other stakeholders to protect their children from preventable diseases and to promote their growth, development, and well-being.

Mr Atidzah reminded nursing mothers and caregivers to keep the scheduled dates of the immunisation of their children up to date, practice good nutrition, and seek timely medical care when the need arose. 'As we observe the African Vaccination and Child Health Promotion Week throughout the month of May, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt appreciation to all nursing mothers and caregivers across the country and the Volta region,' he said. Together, they could build a healthier family, stronger communities, and nation.
