Wenchi: No pregnant girl or nursing mother is participating in the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region, according to Mr. Solomon Dwomor, the Wenchi Municipal Examination Coordinator.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Dwomor reported that the BECE had recorded five absentees across the 10 centers since the examination commenced. In an interview with GNA at Wenchi, Mr. Dwomor revealed that one of the candidates, a 16-year-old boy named Abadallah Mahama, tragically lost his life in a motorbike accident after registering for the examination.
Mr. Dwomor identified the deceased as a candidate from St Paul’s Anglican JHS at Gensoso. He noted that apart from this tragic incident, no reasons had been provided for the other absentees. The examination continues to progress in the municipality, and Mr. Dwomor has cautioned candidates against engaging in malpractices.
