Techiman: The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has called on parents to instill nationalistic values and principles in their children. Mr. Mohammed Manu Busi, the Techiman North Municipal Director of the NCCE, emphasized the importance of teaching children a love for the nation to help preserve the constitution and strengthen the nation’s democracy.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Busi highlighted the commission’s commitment to promoting constitutionalism and ensuring that children are enlightened about the 1992 Constitution. This, he explained, would help them grow with a sense of patriotism and democratic ideals. He stressed that understanding the 1992 Constitution would enable children to cherish, uphold, and defend it as they mature.
Mr. Busi praised a recent competition that focused on the 1992 Constitution and the pre-colonial era, indicating it would help children accept the constitution as the supreme law of the nation. Six basic schools participated in this educational event, which aimed to deepen their understanding of the nation’s legal and historical foundations.
