MP Executes Water Project at Sunyani Technical Institute

Sunyani: Mr. Seid Mubarak, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani East, has performed a groundbreaking ceremony for work to begin on the construction of a mechanised water project for the Sunyani Technical Institute. The MP stated that the facility, upon completion, will address the acute water shortage that students face regularly.

According to Ghana News Agency, during a brief ceremony at the institute's premises in Sunyani, Mr. Seid noted that the project was initiated following an appeal by the Students' Representative Council (SRC). He urged the contractors to expedite the project's execution. Mr. Mubarak also praised the institute's authorities for their efforts in providing essential employable skills training to students despite facing significant challenges. He promised to support the institute in improving its infrastructure.

Mr. Mubarak advised the institute's management to cultivate a maintenance culture to safeguard government properties. He also suggested that with their expansive land, the institute could engage in commercial farming to boost its Internally Generated Fund (IGF) and aid in feeding the students.

Mr. Paul Alexander Sabi, the Headmaster of the Institute, expressed gratitude to the MP, expressing hope that the water project would be completed promptly to satisfy the water demands of the growing student population. The event was also attended by Mr. Vincent Antwi Agyei, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive.
