Accra: The La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly has inaugurated a newly constructed District Police Headquarters in Ayi Mensah, Accra. The modern facility includes air-conditioned offices, a reception area, four washrooms, eight offices, and a state-of-the-art conference room. This initiative aims to enhance police operations and administration, ultimately helping to curb lawlessness and criminal activities in the area.According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Jennifer Dede Adjabeng, the La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Chief Executive, highlighted the importance of peace and security in a democratic society. She emphasized the need for citizens to carry out their daily activities without hindrance. Madam Adjabeng also urged the public to trust the police, especially as elections approach, assuring that any misconduct would be addressed by the law.In her speech, Madam Adjabeng appealed to the community to support the New Patriotic Party's presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, by voting for him in t he upcoming elections. She also encouraged support for the local parliamentary candidate, Mr. Robert Lamptey, praising his contributions to the community even before assuming office.ASP Francis Zoya, the District Police Commander for Ayi Mensah, expressed his gratitude for the new facility, which he believes will alleviate congestion in the previous offices and facilitate smoother police administration. He reiterated his team's dedication to ensuring security during the elections and called for public cooperation.Nii Afutu Brempong, the Chief of Danfa, praised the MCE and the Assembly for their ongoing developmental efforts in the region. He urged the youth to avoid involvement in violence during the elections, reminding them that any unlawful actions would be met with legal consequences. Nii Brempong stressed the importance of prioritizing peace, describing it as an invaluable asset that should not be compromised. He assured continued collaboration with stakeholders to maintain peace in the community.
