Adansi: Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has mourned the passing of two ministers of state and six others who died in a helicopter crash in Adansi, Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6.
According to Ghana News Agency, the former President expressed his sorrow in a statement, highlighting the loss of Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, among others. The victims were reportedly en route to perform a national duty when the tragedy occurred.
Kufuor conveyed his condolences by stating, "With all humility, I join the nation to mourn the shocking passing of Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, and Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, and the six others who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash today, whilst on their way to perform a national duty."
He further extended his thoughts and prayers to the families, friends, and colleagues of those who perished in the incident, emphasizing the importance of honoring their memory through compassion, unity, and common purpose in serving Ghana. Kufuor concluded his message by praying for consolation for the entire nation, particularly the families of the deceased, the President of the Republic, and all Ghanaians.
